Aussie RevHead and Hollywood megastar, Eric Bana has been confirmed for next month’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-hour. This will be the third time Bana has teamed up with co-driver, Peter Hill, for the ‘round-the-clock, Mt Panorama enduro – the last time being in 2011.
“I can’t wait to get back to the circuit,” said Bana, “the car is fantastic to drive, and the thought of competing once again with a couple of mates at this event is very exciting.”
Bana’s seat for the epic February 9, battle will be in a 550hp, V10-powered Lamborghini Gallardo LP520 – sponsored by FDX Workwear and prepared by Racing Incident. While the LP520 is a GT3-spec beast, it’s an older spec car and is entered in Class B. Therefore it’s unlikely to challenge for outright honors against the newer, faster Class A cars; like the Lamborghini LP560-4, Audi R8s or the all-conquering SLS AMGs.
The 2014 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-hour is being broadcast, live, on free-to-air TV (SBS One) for the last three hours on Sunday, 9th February (3:30 – 6:30pm). A live feed is also being streamed from the track all day Saturday (8th) and Sunday (9th) on web stream at www.bathurst12hour.com.au, or via the Motorsports TV App for iPhone or Android.
