Ford’s new thoroughbred is by no means an ordinary car. Sporting an upgraded 2.5L Duratec 20V DOHC RS engine which was previously seen in the Focus Turbo, has an impressive power output of 224kW (6500rpm) and 440Nm of torque (2300-4500rpm) tightly packed under the hood.
With only a limited number being available on the Australian market over the past 12 months, the Focus RS has a similar potential as its distant relatives; the RS200 and Sierra Cosworth, which have both become a Ford classic.
Described by Top Gears Jeremy Clarkson as the best hot hatch to own, the 300HP Focus which has a top speed of 163mph is one enjoyable and highly engineered vehicle.
The NEW RS Focus does have some special requirements however. The upgraded Duratec 2.5L requires a special blend of engine oil identified by the Ford spec No WSS-M2C937-A, or a locally supplied Liqui-Moly product; Synthoil Energy 0W-40. This product is available via the Liqui-Moly website as a specially ordered item through our retail network and also as a spare part for trade workshops via Imparts European.
