FAQs

OIL ADDITIVES

Q. Can I only use oil additives in fully-synthetic oil?

A. No, our oil additives are suitable for use with all commercially available mineral and synthetic engine oils.

Q. When can I first use an oil additive in my new car?

A. We recommend that you start using additives from the first oil change.

Q. Does my diesel engine need a different oil additive to a petrol engine?

A. No, our oil additives are designed for use in all types of diesel & petrol engines including LPG, Turbocharged & Supercharged.

Q. Why are there two types of anti-friction treatments?

A. MOS2 is designed for use in standard & performance engines.

EngineProtect is designed for modern, high performance engines.

Q. What’s the difference between your two anti-friction additives?

A. MOS2 forms a high load-bearing film on all wearing components while compensating for any surface irregularities to reduce friction, heat and wear. EngineProtect      chemically treats and bonds to the metal surfaces to form an additional layer of protection. It also ‘laps’ the surface irregularities to reduce friction, heat and wear      by up to 35%.

Q. Why are there two types of internal engine cleaner treatments?

A. Engine Flush Plus is designed for use in standard or performance engines.

EngineDetox is designed for use in all high performance engines, or highly contaminated enginesthat require a more intense cleaning action when service intervals      have been exceeded.

Q. How does an engine cleaner work?

A. The cleaning agents dissolve the sludge and residues built up within the lubrication system and lowers the oil viscosity to allow the solid particles and liquid      contaminants to freely drain out with the old oil.

Q. How often should I use an anti-friction oil additive?

A. MOS2 Anti-friction treatment lasts for the life of the oil, and should therefore be added at every oil change, results will be noticed almost instantly.

EngineProtect lasts up to 50,000km’s regardless of the number of all changes performed. It takes approximately 3,000km’s to take full effect.

Q. How long should I leave the engine cleaner in for?

A. After adding either Engine Flush Plus or EngineDetox to ‘old’ oil, allow the engine to idle for 10-15 minutes before draining.

Q. Can two oil additives be used at the same time?

A. Yes, our additives have been formulated so they have no detrimental effect on each other or the mixture as a whole e.g. MOS2 and Engine Oil Resealer.

FUEL ADDITIVES

Q. Is Fuel Injection Cleaner only recommended for use in standard unleaded petrol?

A. No, it is suitable for use in standard, premium and E10 unleaded fuels. Not suitable for use in Methanol or E85 fuels.

Q. Is Carburetor & Valve Cleaner only recommended for use in unleaded petrol?

A. No, it is suitable for use in all leaded & unleaded fuels.

Q. Why do I need to use fuel additives?

A. It’s a commercial reality that today’s fuels contain a number of contaminants and when combined with combustion by-products, harmful deposits are formed      throughout the fuel system. If left untreated, these contaminants will negatively affect an engines performance & efficiency over a relatively short period of time.

Q. How often do I need to use fuel additives?

A. We recommend that you use either Fuel injection Cleaner or Carburetor & Valve Cleaner at least every 5,000km’s or when necessary to keep your engine running at      optimum performance and efficiency.

Q. What is combustion by-product?

A. An engines purpose is to convert the fuel we put in the tank into motion or power to drive a vehicle. The process or ‘exothermic reaction’ inside the engine creates      gases at extremely high temperature & pressures that mix with the engines oil to create residues and contaminants which is referred to as combustion
     by-product.

Q. If I put two cans of Speed Tec in my fuel tank, will I get twice the performance?

A. No, there is no benefit to using multiple cans of Speed Tec in a standard sized fuel tank. In fact overdoses can cause problems. One can of Speed Tec is suitable for      up to 70 litres, if you have a long-range fuel tank then you may require more than one canister depending on the overall size.

Q. How does an Octane Booster work?

A. An octane booster is designed to increase the octane level of fuel which further controls or slows the pre-ignition/pinging of fuel. It’s important to know that today’s      modern fuel injection systems are designed specifically to operate using a certain octane of fuel (see your owner’s manual for more information). In most cases      using fuel with a higher octane than is recommended for your vehicle offers absolutely no benefits. Generally speaking tuning or modifying the engine is required to      see any improvements from your engine using higher octane fuel.

Q. Is Speed Tec an Octane Booster?

A. No, Speed Tec does not change the octane of fuel. Speed Tec lifts the combustion intensity of fuel by increasing flame speed during the burn. It allows the engine to      burn fuel faster and more completely. It improves low to mid range acceleration while sharpening throttle response. It increases engine performance without the      need for any additional modifications or re-tuning.
It’s like an energy drink for your engine – an extra boost when you need it.

DIESEL ADDITIVES

Q. What is low sulphur diesel?

A. Low sulphur diesel has been developed to meet the environmental laws introduced to throughout the world and here in Australia. It’s designed to reduce emissions      produced by a diesel powered engine. Basically it’s a cleaner and a more environmentally friendly type of diesel fuel.

Q. Are your diesel additives safe to use with Bio-Diesel & Low Sulphur Diesel?

A. Yes, all of our diesel additives are suitable for use in all commercially available diesel fuels.

Q. What’s the difference between Diesel Anti-Knock Plus & Diesel Purge Plus?

A. Diesel Anti-Knock Plus is recommended for use in vehicles as part of their regular maintenance routine i.e. every 5,000km’s to keep your engine operating      efficiently.

Diesel Purge Plus is a professional strength that should be used to eliminate most fuel related engine-running problems, ideal  for use in engines that have not been      serviced regularly.
